1. Who We Are

StoryboardAI Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the website storyboardai.studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address and display name when you register.
• Generated content: Prompts, scripts, and images you create are stored in your private workspace. They stay private unless you share a board with a link, which lets anyone who has the link view that board until you turn sharing off.
• Client review data: If someone reviews a board you shared, we store the name they enter, their approvals and comments, and a random key kept in their browser so the page can show them their own notes. They don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for their email address.
• Usage data: Credit balance, generation history, and feature usage for billing and service delivery.
• Payment data: Transaction records (amount, date, package). We do not store card numbers — these are handled entirely by our payment processors.
• Technical data: Browser type, IP address, and session tokens for security and authentication.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Service.
• To process payments and manage your credit balance.
• To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, important notices) and, if you share a board, an email when a client reviews it. You can turn review emails off in Settings.
• To improve the Service through product analytics. When you are signed in, analytics are linked to your account ID so we can understand how the product is used. We do not send your name or email address to our analytics provider.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or generation history to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage. Your data is stored in isolated, row-level secured databases.
• fal.ai — AI image and video generation. Prompts are sent to their API for processing.
• Anthropic — AI script generation (Claude models), and analysing a set’s reference picture so shots of that set are framed on the right part of the room.
• OpenAI — AI script generation (GPT models).
• Gumroad — Secure payment processing. We never see or store your card details. Subject to their own privacy policy.
• PostHog — Product analytics and session recordings, used to understand how the product is used and to find and fix problems. When you are signed in, this is linked to your account ID.
• Resend — Sends account and notification emails, such as sign-up confirmations and client review alerts. A review alert includes the reviewer’s name, their notes and small images of the shots.
• Vercel — Hosts the website and app, and processes requests (including IP addresses) to serve them.

5. Data Security

We implement Row Level Security (RLS) so your generated content and account details are only accessible to you. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payment information is handled exclusively by PCI-compliant payment processors.

6. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in securely. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics provider, PostHog, uses first-party cookies to recognise returning visitors and understand how the product is used.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@storyboardai.studio. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data and generated content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings it is deactivated immediately: you are signed out, it can no longer be signed in to, and any share links stop working. We keep the data so the account can be restored if you ask. To have your personal data and generated assets permanently erased, email support@storyboardai.studio and we will remove them within 30 days, except where required by law for financial records.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
